In his 1929 letter to Alberto Serpa, Portuguese writer José Régio expressed his desire to make films. For almost 90 years nothing has been known about the outcome of that desire. The discovery of old film reels in a private collection may provide a closure to the story.

Manuel Mozos was born in 1959 in Lisbon. One of the most important Portuguese directors of his generation. After his feature debut Xavier (1991), he divided his time between fiction and documentary, doing important work on the history of Portuguese Cinema and the city of Lisbon.
