Director Gustav Borg (Stellan Skarsgård) has always put his work first, often at the expense of his relationships with his daughters, Nora (Renate Reinsve – The Worst Person in the World) and Agnes. When Nora, now an acclaimed stage actress, declines a role in his new film, Gustav turns to the ambitious young Hollywood star Rachel Kemp (Elle Fanning).
