Zagreb Film Festival<\/strong>\u00a0announces an open call for application for the script development workshop My First Script<\/strong>. The workshop is intended for filmmakers who are preparing a script for their first feature-length film.<\/span><\/p>\n

From the received applications the total of\u00a06 participants<\/b>\u00a0will be chosen to participate in the workshop: two from Croatia, four from Europe,\u00a0<\/b>including the participants from the new sub-programme MEDIA countries (such as Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, the Republic of Serbia and Turkey).\u00a0The\u00a05-day workshop<\/b>\u00a0will be held during the\u00a017th edition of Zagreb Film Festival<\/b>, which will take place from\u00a07<\/b><\/span>^{th<\/sup><\/b><\/span>\u00a0to 17<\/b><\/span>^{th\u00a0<\/sup><\/b><\/span>November<\/b>\u00a02019.<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n}}

The purpose of this workshop is to help young screenwriters in making a script for their first feature-length fiction film, under the guidance of two script doctors, experienced screenwriters and\/or directors. Through an intense practical program with emphasis on solving problems working in a team, young colleagues will be encouraged, in a relaxed working atmosphere, to successfully complete their scripts.<\/p>\n

The workshop is\u00a0free for all participants<\/b>. Accommodation and travel expenses will be covered for foreign participants.<\/p>\n

Candidates who are interested in the workshop should send the application including:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0Short resume\u00a0<\/b>with personal data
\n2.\u00a0Synopsis<\/b>
\n3.\u00a0Script or treatment + minimum 3 elaborated scenes<\/b><\/p>\n

Candidates from other countries must submit their applications in English language. Projects from Croatia can be submitted in Croatian; however, if accepted, their authors must prepare English translations by the beginning of October.<\/p>\n

Throughout previous seven editions of the workshop, a total of 42 projects from different European countries participated in the workshop. Seven projects are already produced,\u00a0in the phase of pre-production or in the phase of post-production process.\u00a0Two films that have been developed on the workshop have been screened in the program of Zagreb Film Festival,\u00a0The Frog<\/i>\u00a0by Elmir Juki\u0107\u00a0as a part of 15. ZFF and\u00a0The Load<\/i>\u00a0by Ognjen Glavoni\u0107 which was premiered in Cannes Directors\u2019 Fortnight program and afterwards won the main award on 16. Zagreb Film Festival.<\/span><\/p>\n
