Yorgos Mavropsaridis: Splicing into Strange Worlds

Masterclass

In collaboration with the Croatian Film Editors Association (HFM), a masterclass will be held for the Zagreb audience by Yorgos Mavropsaridis, one of today’s most prominent film editors. Mavropsaridis is best known for his long-standing collaboration with acclaimed director Yorgos Lanthimos, having edited all his films. Dogtooth, The Lobster, The Favourite, Poor Things, and Bugonia are just a few of the titles shaped in his editing room. Twice nominated for both an Oscar and a BAFTA, Mavropsaridis will, through examples and a conversation with editor Iva Ivan, discuss his craft and how he builds story and emotion through editing.

The masterclass will conclude with the announcement and screening of the best trailer made during the ZFF Trailer Editing Workshop.
