Shy and imaginative eight-year-old Xuan struggles to find the perfect outfit for the upcoming school Children's Day celebration. Her sisters make mean comments, her father authoritarian, and her mother is consumed by the demands of caring for the new baby. One day, she approaches Maggie, a kind but privileged classmate, and a quiet friendship blossoms between the two girls.

Giselle Lin

Giselle Lin is a Singaporean director and screenwriter. Her work is inspired by the fleeting nature of memory, relationships, and nature. Her short films, Time Flows in Strange Ways on Sundays and I Look Into the Mirror and Repeat to Myself, have been screened at the Locarno International Film Festival. She is currently developing her first feature film, Midnight Blue Spring.
