Apply for the Trailer Editing Workshop

Zagreb Film Festival, in cooperation with the Croatian Film Editors Society (HFM) and Croatian Film Authors’ and Producers’ Association (DHFA) is organizing, for the fifth consecutive year, an editing workshop for making film trailers.

The workshop is intended for editors with previous experience editing promotional forms within professional engagements or study programs. A total of five participants will be selected from the applications received.

The workshop will be held during the Zagreb Film Festival, which takes place from November 9 to 15, under the guidance of two prominent and award-winning Croatian editors and HFM members, Vladimir Gojun and Tomislav Pavlic.

Film trailers are advertisements for a film, extremely important for the first communication about the film, and are the result of creative work as well as practical, technical skills. Young professionals will go through a practical five-day workshop under the guidance of experienced editors who will share their knowledge with them and encourage them toward their own specific way of thinking about film trailers.

As a reward for the best trailer of the workshop, one editor will be given a paid professional opportunity to edit a trailer to create a trailer.

The workshop is free for all participants.

Interested candidates should apply via the application form, and the following are required for application:

  1. a short CV with personal information,
  2. filmography,
  3. a link to previous work: one short film and one trailer or other promotional form.

Application deadline: October 2

For any additional questions, you can send an e-mail to infoindustry@zff.hr.

The competition results will be announced in mid-October.
