Fifteen-year-old Ahmet lives with his father and brother in a small Macedonian village. His love for music provides an escape from the arduous and monotonous shepherding duties, but he must hide his passion from his strict father. With the help of his brother Naim, Ahmet decides to pursue his musical ambitions to impress Aya, the girl he likes but who has already been "promised" to another. He will get his chance at the upcoming dance festival in the woods, which will transform their rural landscape into a spectacle of rhythm, colour, and movement. Unkovski's feature debut won the Audience Award and the Special Jury Award for Creative Vision at Sundance, garnering special praise for its music, composed by the renowned Croatian duo, Alen and Nenad Sinkauz.
