Another Award for ‘Plate’: Hana Jušić Wins Best Director

At the recently closed 29th edition of Tokyo International Film Festival, director Hana Jušić won the Best Director Award for her feature debut, Quit Staring at My Plate. Along with the award, she received a cash prize amounting to USD 5000.

Quit Staring at My Plate was screened in competition at one of the largest Asian film festivals, including 16 films from all over the world. This is the fourth important award that Plate garnered in the last two months, since it began its festival tour. Early in September it won the FEDEORA Award in Venice, followed by a Special Mention in Warsaw and Best Film in the Meeting Point section at the Valladolid Festival (Spain).

On 15 November the film is having its Croatian premiere at the 14th Zagreb Film Festival, after which it will be released in cinemas across the country, distributed by 2i Film. Next to Europa Cinema in Zagreb, Plate will be included in the listings of independent cinemas in other Croatian cities.
