Middle-aged Stela (Katia Pascariu – Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn, ZFF 2021) may not enjoy working, but she has loved Boban (Miodrag Mladenović), a Balkan pop star in decline, ever since she was twelve. When she learns that Boban is equally obsessed with the glamorous starlet Vera, Stela embarks on a zealous online hate campaign, mostly consisting of sending insulting messages. But Vera finds the messages amusing and draws Stela into her various schemes to get rich, promising to lift her out of poverty. Along the way, Stela will also meet Boban. This outrageously tasteless sociosexual satire by director Ivana Mladenović (Ivana the Terrible – Golden Pram 2019) premiered at Locarno and won the Best Director award at the Sarajevo Film Festival.

Ivana Mladenović is a Serbian-Romanian filmmaker. Her documentary, Turn Off the Lights (2012), premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and won the Heart of Sarajevo for Best Documentary. Her feature debut, Soldiers (2017), premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, and with Ivana the Terrible (2019) she won the Cine+ Jury Award at Locarno and the Golden Pram at ZFF.
