Ingrid (Julianne Moore) and Martha (Tilda Swinton) were close friends in their youth, but over the years their paths and careers diverged. Martha became a war reporter, and Ingrid a novelist, known for her great fear of death. After a number of years, the two reconnect and grow closer through shared memories, anecdotes and conversations about art and movies. But their renewed closeness will be tested by Martha’s unexpected request. Winner of this year’s Golden Lion at Venice and the Brian Award, Pedro Almodóvar’s new work is a masterful drama about life, death and the responsibilities of friendship and is also his first full-length film in the English language.
