In cooperation with the Croatian Film Editors (HFM), ZFF will host a masterclass of the noted Italian editor Marco Costa. Marco Costa has edited some of famed Italian director Luca Guadagnino’s most well-known films, including Bones and All (2022), Challengers (2024), and his latest, Golden Lion-nominated Queer (2024). In a conversation with editor Iva Ivan, Marco Costa will talk about his experience in editing, his creative process and working on the film Challengers.
MARCO COSTA
Marco Costa is an Italian film editor who graduated from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome. He has been a longtime collaborator of director Luca Guadagnino, which led him to edit the TV series We Are Who We Are (2020) for HBO, and films Bones and All (2022), Challengers (2024), Queer (2024) and After the Hunt (TBD), as well as the music video for Sufjan Stevens’ Tell Me You Love Me.
IVA IVAN
Iva Ivan (Zagreb, 1984) graduated in psychology from the Faculty of Humanities and editing from the Academy of Dramatic Art. She has edited various film and television projects. The films she edited have screened and won awards at international film festivals such as the Tallinn Black Nights, Sarajevo Film Festival, Auteur Film Festival in Belgrade, International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, DOK Leipzig, Makedox, etc.
