            Andrey M. Paounov

            Andrey M. Paounov is a Bulgarian screenwriter and director. He directed several award-winning documentaries, including Georgi and the Butterflies (IDFA 2004 – Silver Wolf), The Mosquito Problem and Other Stories (Cannes 2007), The Boy Who Was a King (2011) and Walking on Water (Locarno 2018). His first fiction feature, January, won Best Director at the Sofia International Film Festival.
