During a hiking weekend in the company of her father Chris and his oldest friend Matt, 17-year-old Sam becomes a witness to their rivalry. At first fascinated by the brotherly dynamic and the conversations between the two men, Sam tries to broker a truce between the two clashing egos. But she soon becomes frustrated by their emotional immaturity and decides it’s time to stop being the goody two-shoes of the family. Premiering at Sundance, director India Donaldson’s feature debut is a funny, down-to-earth and deeply compassionate portrait of girlhood and the turning point in the parent-child relationship.
