In the smoky warmth of an Estonian log-cabin sauna, a group of women gather in an intimate cleansing ritual, both physical and mental, sharing with each other their experiences and stories. Within this safe space of freedom, they regain the strength needed to face the outside world. Winner of Directing Award at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, Smoke Sauna Sisterhood is an impressively shot documentary about tradition, female community and some naked truths.
