Teenager Didi wants to untangle a love triangle he finds himself in: he will tell Klara that he’s fallen in love with Una, an art student. On his way, he loses his life in a tragic traffic accident. As she struggles with the loss, Una later meets Klara, who still believes she was Didi’s only love. The two girls grow closer, yet one of them doesn’t know the truth. The latest film by Icelandic director Rúnar Rúnarsson (Volcano – ZFF 2011, Sparrows – ZFF 2015, Echo – ZFF 2021), a well-known name to ZFF audiences, is a minority Croatian co-production, which opened the Un Certain Regard program in Cannes.

Rúnar Rúnarsson (Reykjavik, 1977) is a well-known name to ZFF audiences, who have had the opportunity to follow his career since his first steps in short film in the early years of the festival. His shorts were followed by feature-film festival laureates – Volcano (ZFF 2012), Sparrows (ZFF 2015; San Sebastián 2015 – Golden Shell for Best Film) and Echo (ZFF 2021 ), and he also penned the script for the feature Solitude (ZFF 2023), directed by a member of this year’s festival jury, Ninna Pálmadóttir.
