The first cultural activity of the newly-founded Student Centre was holding cinema screenings at the former pavilion of the Zagreb Fair. The SC Cinema opened in 1959. During its long history, Zagreb’s largest cinema has hosted unforgettable films and premieres, very popular cinema matinees, first guitar showcases, concerts of music superstars, iconic lectures, student, political and similar gatherings. Several renowned film festival and cultural events started their journeys precisely at this venue, including the Zagreb Film Festival’s beginnings at the SC Cinema. In recent years, ZFF’s opening and closing ceremonies have taken place at the SC Cinema.
