Sunday at ZFF: Croatian Premieres of New Films by Dolan and Puiu

The first official day of the festival at Europa Cinema begins at 7pm with a screening of Name: Dobrica, Last Name: Unknown, written and starring one of the biggest acting celebrities in the region, Slavko Štimac. After the screening, together with director Srđa Penezić, actor Bogdan Diklić and the rest of the cast and crew, he will greet the audience. This beautiful and original tale of a hero whose eternally positive outlook on life cannot be thwarted by difficulties, is a kind of fairy tale for adults with three happy endings. A real feelgood film.

At 9.30pm check out the film about the frightening bureaucracy grind based on a series of true stories from the Chinese newspaper crime sections, Old Stone by the Canadian-Chinese director Johnny Ma.

Events at Tuškanac start with the Together Again section and the Croatian premieres of It’s Only the End of the World by Xavier Dolan (4pm) and dark comedy Sieranevada (6pm), the Romanian film with the Croatian minority co-production stake (Spiritus Movens company). After the screening, the audience will be greeted by the famous Romanian director Cristi Puiu, who first introduced this film this spring in Cannes.
