Who Decides on ZFF and KinoKino Awards?

The winners of the Golden Pram, the official Zagreb Film Festival award, as well as the KinoKino Festival award will be determined by several separate juries consisting of numerous renowned filmmakers from Croatia and abroad.

The members of year’s jury for ZFF’s feature film competition are Katia Pascariu, who has the lead role in Radu Jude’s Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn (Together Again program); director Ivan Ikić, who won last year’s Golden Pram for the film Oasis; and award-winning director of photography Vanja Černjul, whose recent works include series The Deuce and Marco Polo, and Jon M. Chu’s film Crazy Rich Asians.

The winner of the international short film program and Checkers will be determined by last year’s winner of Checkers, young director Sara Grgurić (In the Woods); Slovenian director Rok Biček, whose festival success Class Enemy (screened at the 12th ZFF) won the Fedeora Award in Venice and entered the LUX Award final; and director and Herceg Novi Film Festival selector Ivan Bakrač, whose latest work After the Winter was based on the script he also developed at ZFF’s workshop My First Script in 2018.

The audience will determine the winner of the Golden Bicycle, which is awarded to the best film from the Together Again program.

The jury members of this year’s international film festival for children KinoKino, which takes place alongside ZFF, from November 15 to 21, are: actress Iva Babić, who had more than twenty film and television roles (Mali, Life is a Trumpet, Dnevnik velikog Perice, Black & White World); scholar focusing on children and teen literature Dubravka Zima, who is a lecturer at the Department of Croatology at the Faculty of Croatian Studies; and director Saša Ban, who has, among others, directed HRT’s critically acclaimed documentary series Slumbering Concrete and the short feature film Baby Tooth, which was awarded at the 2016 ZFF. They will award the director of the best feature film in the main program, and the KinoKino Award for Best Film is awarded at the discretion of the children’s jury, while the audience votes for the winner of the Audience Award.
