Although the Saturday award ceremony officially closed the 21st ZFF, Zagreb audiences can still catch a few select titles from this year’s edition on Sunday at CineStar Branimir Cinema and MSU at Novi Zagreb.

ZFF Sunday at CineStar Branimir begins at 6.30 pm with the German Teachers’ Lounge by Ilker Çatak about a young and enthusiastic professor whose spirit still hasn’t been broken by the system. The film is this year’s Golden Bicycle winner in the Together Again competition program. According to the jury, this is an intensive film which takes the viewer through moral quandaries, not leaving them with only one answer.

At 8.30 PM in CineStar, we are screening the new film from Sofia Coppola, Priscilla. Inspired by the memoirs of Priscilla Presley, the film follows her relationship with Elvis from the earliest days, when she met him as a 14-year-old teenager, and a few years later when she moved to his luxurious estate. But after the dream, there’s always the wake up call – after entering through the gates of Elvis’ castle, Priscilla finds herself inside a gilded cage. This is a story about her. The film premiered in Venice, where the actress Cailee Spaeny won the Coppa Volpi Award for best actress for her portrayal of Priscilla.

The Sunday program at MSU starts at 6 PM with the film from the Network of Festivals of the Adriatic Region program Black Stone, a comic pseudodocumentary in which the director Spiros Jacovides, through the relationship between an overprotective mother and her son, successfully peeks under every cornerstone of modern Greek society and flips it over. Black Stone is also available online until midnight 19 November.

At 8 PM in MSU, we are screening Past Lives by Canadian-Korean director Celine Song. Critics describe the film as a combination of Before Sunrise and In the Mood For Love. The film wowed ZFF’s audiences and has not stopped amazing audiences and critics alike since its premiere at Sundance.
