Hypnotherapist Kate lives with her husband Orl and their daughter Athena, while simultaneously maintaining a secret romantic liaison with Andreas (Anders Danielsen Lie; The Worst Person in the World, ZFF 2021; Oslo, August 31st, ZFF 2011). What happens when someone who once seemed perfect for us no longer fits? Is it even possible to be happy with just one person for an entire lifetime? Swedish-Danish director Maria Bäck’s witty and emotionally sharp Brave New Love examines the norms and structures of heterosexual relationships, following its protagonist on a journey of self-discovery filled with sensuality, bodily fluids, and Greek mythology. The film had its world premiere at the Locarno Film Festival.
