Twenty-two-year-old Iva lives with her mother Davorka in a cramped apartment. The stubborn Davorka keeps her daughter in a tight grip from which Iva cannot seem to break free. In the subdued struggle for her own independence, Iva will find an escape in running. Having premiered at Sarajevo, Luka Galešić’s new film Patch (Grand Finale, ZFF 2025; It’s Alright, It’s Nice, ZFF 2023) uses an intimate portrayal of a complex mother-daughter relationship to speak about loneliness, co-dependency and the difficulties of growing up.

Luka Galešić

Luka Galešić (Zadar, 1991) holds a master’s in Film and TV Directing from the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb and a bachelor’s in Journalism. He received the Rector’s Award for Pravda and has spent the past five years working as a screenwriter and assistant director on Croatian films and TV series. He is currently developing his debut feature, Viktorija.
