Journalist and single mother Edith (Lisa Loven Kongsli – Force Majeure) unexpectedly discovers the identity of her sperm donor and decides to track him down. Neils (Herbert Nordrum – The Worst Person in the World) is a creative at the helm of an immensely popular video game, and 40-year-old Edith contacts him under the false pretense of wanting to conduct an interview. A spontaneous closeness develops between them, as Edith becomes increasingly entangled in her own lies. Solomamma is the first Norwegian film to screen at Locarno since 1975, where it was honored with the Ecumenical Jury Prize.
