The foreign ministers of two neighbouring European countries are meeting on an unofficial hunting trip. When a stray bullet kills a young game beater, the case attracts a lot of media attention. Wanting to protect the identity of the culprit, the intelligence agency hires the fixer Steiner. The ailing Steiner, who took the job to provide for his family, finds himself faced with a moral dilemma when he discovers that the culprit is Berger, the leading contender for the EU’s Strategic Water Commissioner. Water scarcity is an important international issue, and Berger’s opponent wants to privatise water resources in the Union. Power is a dark political thriller inspired by a real Slovakian scandal in 2009.
