Bold, temperamental, loud and obsessed with becoming famous, 19-year-old Liane is every reality show producer’s dream candidate. When she finally gets an audition for the show Miracle Island, in which 15 young and handsome people live together in a beach house, it seems that success is around the corner. The first film by French director Agatha Riedinger is a sharp look at today’s culture of instant stars, social networks and influencers, in which to be seen means to exist, and fulfilment can only be achieved by finding the holy grail of fame. The film premiered in the main competition at Cannes.
