Children’s Workshop: My First Digital Picture Book

In collaboration with HUB 385, we are once again organizing an educational workshop for primary school children.

The workshop My First Digital Picture Book combines the development of digital skills with creative expression, and encourages children to think about the importance of an interdisciplinary approach, which plays an ever-greater role in modern education and society.

Participants will be able to use ready-made characters or create their own, and bring them to life with simple code and carefully crafted scripts. By the end of the workshop, each participant will have created their own digital picture book, combining elements of programming, storytelling, and visual expression.

The workshop is based on Scratch, a tool developed at the American university MIT and designed for children and programming beginners. Scratch uses a visual, block-based language with a simple structure and no complex syntax, which makes the first steps in learning the basic principles of programming much easier.

Workshop dates:

  • Saturday, 7 November, 10:00 – 13:00 (for children aged 7 to 9)
  • Sunday, 8 November, 10:00 – 13:00 (for children aged 10 to 12)

Location: HUB385, Petračićeva 6

Participation is free of charge, and places are limited. Applications are accepted until the workshop capacity is filled.
