Middle-aged Bill (Gustaf Skarsgård; Oppenheimer, 2023) decides to join his teenage daughter’s school trip in the hope of fixing their relationship. But he soon finds himself caught up in a conflict that drags him back into the past and forces him to confront his own failings. The feature debut of acclaimed Swedish author Alex Schulman deploys dark humour to dissect the toxic culture of peer violence, confronting audiences with the disquieting realisation that cruelty lurks within us all. The film had its world premiere at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, where it won Best Picture in the Next Wave Features program.
