Francesco Sossai’s new film is a charming and irresistibly entertaining road movie about two good-natured drunks who hop from one inn to the next, and drag a shy architecture student along with them. The Last One for the Road ushers the audience into the world of faltering romantics, always ready for one more drink in the hope that it will bring the elusive happiness they seek. Premiered at Cannes, this bittersweet tale inspired by personal experience is a tribute to those special places that live on in our memories.

Francesco Sossai (Feltre, 1989) studied film directing at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB). He has directed the short films Surfaces (2017) and The Birthday Party (2023), and the feature Other Cannibals (2021). The Last One for the Road (2025) is his latest film.
